Seminar with Pyli Net: “Mapping the Software of Shipping – Humans” In a packed session co-hosted with Pyli Net, we explored a pressing question: As AI and automation rise, what role do humans still play in shipping? The seminar made a powerful case for why people remain the industry’s irreplaceable “software”—adaptive, ethical, and essential to safe, resilient operations. Panelists emphasized the need for upskilling, crew-centric digital tools, and fostering a company culture that values its workforce as its greatest asset. Simos Varias at the Oslo Maritime Venture Financing Forum Crossworld’s CEO, Simos Varias, was invited to speak at the Oslo Maritime Venture Financing Forum, a gathering of global investors focused on maritime technology. He offered Crossworld’s perspective on sustainable crew management as a value driver, highlighting how forward-looking investment in people, platforms, and processes is creating long-term competitive advantage in the shipping sector. The session confirmed a growing alignment between capital markets and Crossworld’s core mission: to deliver smarter, human-powered maritime solutions.
