Crossworld Reaffirms Its Commitment to Filipino Seafarer Welfare and Safety

For Crossworld Marine Services, the Philippines is not just a key crewing market—it is a strategic, human partnership built over decades. Filipino seafarers form the backbone of global shipping, and their welfare, safety, and professional dignity are deeply embedded in how we operate. That philosophy was reaffirmed on 15 January 2026, when Crossworld participated in a high-level maritime labor meeting in Makati City, organized by the Greek Embassy in the Philippines in coordination with the Department of Migrant Workers. A Long-Term Commitment, Not a One-Off Discussion The meeting brought together government officials and Greek maritime stakeholders to align on a shared priority: the welfare, safety, and protection of Filipino seafarers serving aboard Greek-managed vessels. For Crossworld, this discussion directly reflects our corporate culture and mission. As one of the most established crew management organizations active in the Philippines, we believe that responsible maritime operations begin—and end—with people. Key areas of discussion closely mirror Crossworld’s day-to-day practices: Fair and transparent employment conditions Strong compliance with international maritime labor standards Continuous improvement of safety and wellbeing frameworks Ethical recruitment and long-term career support for seafarers Crossworld’s Role in the Filipino Maritime Workforce With a substantial Filipino seafarer pool under management, Crossworld has long invested in: Seafarer welfare programs, both onboard and ashore Safety-first crewing standards, aligned with global best practices Sustainable employment relationships, not transactional placements Seafarer careers, not simply a job placement Our presence at this high-level meeting was not symbolic. It reflects our belief that industry leaders must actively engage with institutions shaping maritime labor policy, particularly in markets as critical as the Philippines. Leadership Participation That Reflects Company Values Crossworld was represented by Group CEO, Simos Varias and Capt Levy Capayas, President of Crossworld Marine, whose participation underscored the company’s hands-on leadership approach in matters of crew welfare and safety. At Crossworld, leadership involvement in such forums is deliberate. Decisions affecting seafarers’ lives and careers deserve direct accountability at the highest level. Looking Ahead: Shared Responsibility, Shared Future The Philippines remains the world’s leading supplier of maritime professionals. Greece controls the world’s largest merchant fleet. The intersection of these two realities creates both opportunity and responsibility. Crossworld remains committed to: Strengthening cooperation with Philippine institutions Supporting initiatives that protect and empower seafarers Advancing a maritime industry where welfare and performance are not competing priorities—but complementary ones This is not new ground for Crossworld. It is simply who we are. Together Always Ahead.

Building Bridges at Sea: Crossworld Launches Manila Client Visit Season & Children’s Painting Initiative

Building Bridges at Sea Every October marks the beginning of one of Crossworld Marine’s most meaningful traditions — the client visit and crew conferences season in Manila, which this year officially began with the NIOVIS Conference. It’s more than meetings and conferences; it’s about reconnecting with the people who make global trade possible. Shipowners and managers travel to the Philippines to meet their crews face-to-face — sharing updates, ideas, and a sense of belonging that no remote session can replicate. At the heart of these gatherings lies Crossworld’s long-standing belief: strong partnerships begin with strong relationships. These sessions create open dialogue between seafarers, fleet managers, and principals — a chance to celebrate milestones, discuss developments, and strengthen the trust built over time working together. “Crew management is not just about logistics or economics — it’s about community,” says Makram Daouk, Chief Operating Officer of Crossworld Group. “When shipowners meet their crew in person, they get to see the commitment and pride that drive the vessels they manage.” Art from the Heart — The Bahay Aruga Painting Contest This October also brought color, creativity, and hope to the Crossworld community. As part of its ongoing charitable mission, the Crossworld Charity Foundation organized a special painting contest at Bahay Aruga — a temporary shelter providing care for children battling different kinds of cancer. The Foundation, which has been supporting Bahay Aruga since 2015, invited the young residents to create artworks inspired by the sea, ships, and the maritime world for Crossworld’s 2025 seasons’ greetings cards. What emerged were genuine masterpieces — bright, imaginative, and filled with the courage of children who fight battles far greater than any storm at sea. The Crossworld Charity Foundation awarded every child for their participation, celebrating their strength, creativity, and effort. Later, the paintings will be auctioned, with all proceeds going back to the Foundation to support its continuous work with Bahay Aruga and other children in need. Together Always Ahead Both initiatives — the NIOVIS-powered launch of the Manila client visit season and the Bahay Aruga painting contest — capture what defines Crossworld: community, consistency, and care. From bridge to boardroom and from home to harbor, Crossworld continues to strengthen the ties that keep the maritime world moving — Together Always Ahead.

Crossworld Charity Foundation: A Month of Music, Giving, and Community Support

August 2025 was a month filled with purpose and solidarity for the Crossworld Charity Foundation, as we organized and participated in a series of activities that brought our community together and extended help to those in need. On 15 August, we launched Music for a Cause — a special evening that combined music, cultural celebration, and employee participation to raise funds for our foundation’s programs. More than entertainment, the event reflected Crossworld Marine Services’ commitment to corporate social responsibility and the wellbeing of seafarers, their families, and the wider maritime community. But our impact didn’t stop there. In the weeks that followed, the Foundation and our employees carried forward the spirit of giving: August 20 – sCAREy Movie Night: our second employee-led fundraising activity, with proceeds supporting the upcoming relief drive. August 23 – Donor’s Appreciation Gathering at Bahay Parola, Sta. Rosa, Laguna, where we honored the generosity of our partners and benefactors. August 30 – Typhoon Relief Outreach Program in Aringay, La Union, where Crossworld extended vital assistance to affected families. These initiatives show that at Crossworld Marine Services, our mission goes beyond crew management and ship management. We believe in standing alongside the people who support us — from our employees to seafarers, their families, and communities impacted by challenges. With every initiative, we reaffirm our guiding principle: Together Always Ahead — in business, in service, and in giving back.

Crossworld Leads Industry Dialogue on Drug Awareness and Smuggling Prevention

Crossworld Hosts Drug Awareness and Prevention Seminar in the Philippines Together Always Ahead — in Safety, Awareness, and Responsibility On May 14th, 2025, Crossworld Marine Services took proactive action to safeguard the shipping industry and its people by hosting a Drug Awareness and Prevention Seminar in the Philippines. With the growing risk of drug smuggling incidents involving commercial vessels, the stakes are high—not just for seafarers but also for the operational integrity, legal compliance, and global reputation of shipping companies. A Collective Response to a Global Challenge The seminar brought together key stakeholders across enforcement, law, maritime regulation, and seafarer welfare: Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Philippine Coast Guard Philippine National Police (PNP) Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) Del Rosario Law (P&I legal experts) Marino PH (Social Media and Advocacy Platform) Their unified message echoed loud and clear: NO to Drugs. NO to Smuggling. NO to Illegal Activities. TOGETHER WE SAY NO. Building Awareness, Empowering Crews This initiative reflects Crossworld’s core values—crew welfare, compliance, and long-term sustainability. Our investment in crew training and awareness aims to fortify every vessel’s first line of defense: its people. By educating seafarers and staff on the legal, personal, and operational consequences of illicit activity, we’re not just following industry standards—we’re setting them.
